Purpose

Performs cash funding / forecasting activities, in support of the CMF, Prime and Treasury businesses’, from within GWO Settlements & Clearing in London, England.  Supports the team manager in ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.



Accountabilities 

Significantly contributes to the operational efficiency of the Cash Forecasting team in accordance with established policies and procedures by:

Providing validated and timely funding forecasts to front office trading staff. Assisting other staff members in the compilation and query resolution of funding forecasts.

Performing daily controls and checkpoints to ensure that depository accounts are appropriately funded to and from main nostro accounts in a timely and accurate manner.

Performing start of day, intra-day and end of day control checks of cash balances across the Bank’s various Nostro and cash Settlement account providers to ensure that cash balances are in line with the teams’ forecast and that accounts do not become blocked through external credit issues.

Reviewing distributed KRI reports and outstanding nostro reconciliation breaks directly in TLM, takes appropriate action for resolution, and assists other team members in ensuring appropriate actions are being taken in terms of resolution and escalation.

Representing Cash team in daily and weekly governance meetings.

Identifying ineffective and inefficient processes and then recommending and setting plans for the team to deliver the necessary change.

Fostering and maintaining open communication with internal departments for swift resolution of issues or concerns.

Suggesting and implementing appropriate and robust controls, both proactively and in reaction to Operational risk events.

Keeping up to date with market and industry knowledge and by sharing that with team members.

Playing a key role in facilitating change attributed to regulatory, business, and operational change that impacts the Cash Management function.

Providing holiday and sickness cover within the department on the Treasury and FX roles.

Creates an environment in which his/her colleagues see them as the go to person / SME.Actively seeks opportunities to support the Assistant Manager, acting as a role model in ensuring the adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk.

Experience/Education
Good knowledge of Front and Back Office operation and practices.

Possess knowledge of the risk, accounting and settlement requirements of Fixed Income Securities and Equities.

Solid relevant market experience.

Strong organizational skills and ability to affect and manage change.

Strongcommunication skills,bothverbalandwritten.

Soundjudgmentandstronganalyticalskillsinordertoeffectivelyresolveproblems, effectively deal with internal and external clients, depositories, agents, sub-custodians, and other service providers as appropriate.

A desire to provide SME support to more junior staff and to continuously look for ways to improve the process and challenge the status quo.
