Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of the Metals & Mining Investment Banking and broader Global Banking and Markets in Europe ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.



Accountabilities 



Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Contributes to and prepares financial and written analysis of companies and industries, including the development of operating, financial and valuation models, pro-forma financial statements, comparable company and precedent transactions analyses

Evaluates and analyses the financial needs of corporate clients under various operating scenarios and analyses the impacts of different capital structures and potential M&A transactions

Participates in origination efforts, including marketing materials and presentations / generally supports client pitch and deal execution efforts

Participates in drafting prospectuses, documentation and marketing presentations for transactions

Applies product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve their financial objectives.

Participates in all stages of transaction execution, from the pitch phase through to closing

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

Contributes to a high-performance environment and fosters an inclusive work environment; supporting the vison/values/business strategy for the team.


Experience/Education

Academic:

Ideal candidate will possess a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities.

Related investment banking or industry experience

Relevant previous metals & mining experience considered an asset

Functional competencies:

A clearly defined interest in Investment Banking and M&A.

Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.

The ability to excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines.

The ability to perform effectively in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new situations.

Strong presentation skills.
