Leads and oversees Global Business Payments, Deposit & Investments in Europe ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Works directly with GBM business partners, primarily the corporate & financial instructions relationship managers, to grow regulatory friendly deposits by developing liquidity solutions for GBM clients & prospects, thereby achieving annual deposit growth targets by acquiring new deposits for the bank.

The Director will provide client service consistent with Scotiabank standards and will be the primary contact for the GBM relationship managers who have sophisticated clients and/or prospects with surplus funds to invest, and to assist with clients who require more complex investment solutions.

Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Helps secure profitable new deposit and investment mandates from clients and prospects to reach pre-established targets. Lead and/or attend client meetings to provide leading industry knowledge and solutions relating to deposits and investments.

Develops and implements short and long-term strategies to accomplish deposit growth targets. Develop strategies to capitalize on the changing regulatory environment in targeting new relationships/industries for the Bank.

Leads and supports prospecting initiatives. Develop and maintain a list of potential new deposit clients through existing network and industry experience.

Provides pricing guidance in all situations through coordination with internal partners including GBP Pricing and Group Treasury.

Coordinates origination activities with key internal business partners; meeting to exchange and plan respective origination strategies.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.


Solid experience in a Sales, Product/Account Management role within a banking environment
Success in managing a team and meeting/exceeding stated growth targets
Minimum degree qualification in a relevant subject
Multi-lingual is desirable but not essential
